Regular Season Round 10: Bipa Basket - Mykolaiv 79-67

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Mykolaiv's (5-8) road loss to fifth ranked Bipa Basket (7-7) 67-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bipa Basket. Mykolaiv was better in third quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bipa Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 22. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 47-25 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bipa Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Chris Carter (196-92, college: Florida Tech, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 7 points and 13 assists during the contest. Bipa Basket's coach Vadim Pudzyrei used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Illya Zhukovskiy (198-93) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Andriy Kozhemyakin (189-96) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bipa Basket maintains fifth position with 7-7 record. Mykolaiv lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Bipa Basket will face bottom-ranked VolinBasket (#9) in Lutsk in the next round. Mykolaiv will play on the road against Cherkasy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
