Regular Season Round 11: Horsholm - Lemvig 59-66

Very significant was Lemvig's (#2, 6-3) victory against 4th placed Horsholm (5-3) 66-59. Horsholm trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 59-66 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for American forward Kaitlyn Mathieu (188-92, college: William & Mary) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import forward Tori Waldner (196-93, college: Penn St.) helped adding 17 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Line Piechnik (171-90) responded with 14 points and forward Maria Pedersen (169-92) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Horsholm's coach Jose Vazquez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lemvig have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Stevnsgade, which they share with Virum. Defending champion Horsholm keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Lemvig is looking forward to face Virum (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Horsholm will play against Aabyhoj and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
