Very expected game in Sakaraya where 16th ranked Bandirma Kir. (3-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Sakarya BSB (9-3) 83-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sakarya BSB. Bandirma Kir. managed to win fourth quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sakarya BSB made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bandirma Kir.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and forward Kerem Ozkan (201-88) who added 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Phil Greene IV (187-92, college: St.John's) with 25 points and his fellow American import forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St.) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sakarya BSB have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Denizli. Newly promoted Bandirma Kir. dropped to the fifteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Final Genclik. Sakarya BSB will meet league's leader Tofas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bandirma Kir.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Balikesir Balikesir.
