Regular Season Round 8: Orduspor - Fenerbahce 77-100

The game with biggest result difference took place in Ordu. Local Orduspor (2-6) was outscored by sixth ranked Fenerbahce (5-3) 100-77. Fenerbahce dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Orduspor's 42. Fenerbahce had a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Fenerbahce especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The winners were led by Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) who scored that evening 23 points and 7 assists and the former international center Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-88, college: VCU) supported her with 22 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Five Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce's coach Georgios Dikeoulakos felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 28 points and 8 rebounds by Serbian-Hungarian forward Tijana Krivacevic (196-90) did not help to save the game for Orduspor. American guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) added 20 points and 10 assists for the hosts. Fenerbahce moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mersin. Orduspor lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Fenerbahce's next round opponent will be Yakin Dogu (#7) in Lefkosa. Orduspor will play on the road against Edirne (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
