Regular Season Round 8: Adana ASKI - Hatay 81-87

Date: December 13, 2015
No shocking result in a game in Mersin where second ranked Hatay (6-2) defeated 10th ranked Adana ASKI (2-6) 87-81. Hatay made 26-of-30 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while Adana ASKI only scored ten points from the stripe. 25 personal fouls committed by Adana ASKI helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by Australian point guard Natalie Hurst (164-83) who scored that evening 25 points and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Hungarian power forward Anna Vajda (191-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) supported her with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Even 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by American point guard Riquna Williams (170-90, college: Miami, FL, agency: Regeneracom Sports) did not help to save the game for Adana ASKI. Brazilian center Erika De Souza (197-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Adana ASKI's coach Kaan Artun rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hatay maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Abdullah Gul, which they share with Istanbul Univ. and Galatasaray. Adana ASKI at the other side keeps the tenth place with six games lost. Hatay's next round opponent will be Istanbul Uni (#3) in Istanbul, which may be the game of the day. Adana ASKI will play on the road against the league's leader Abdullah Gul (#1) in Kayseri and hope to win that game.
