An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Oberwart. Second ranked Furstenfeld Panthers faced 4th placed Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Guests from Furstenfeld (11-5) defeated host Redwell Gunners Oberwart (8-8) 91-79. The game was mostly controlled by Furstenfeld Panthers. Redwell Gunners Oberwart was better in second period 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Croatian Marko Car (188-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 7 assists. American guard Chris McNealy (194-92, college: Cal-Irvine) answered with 27 points and the other American import guard Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Five Furstenfeld Panthers and four Redwell Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Furstenfeld Panthers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-5 record having five points less than leader Gussing. Redwell Gunners Oberwart lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against Gmunden Swans (#9) in Gmunden in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play on the road against Kapfenberg Bulls (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
