The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Zaporizhya's (5-10) home victory over 8th ranked Infiz Basket (2-11) 84-71 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Zaporizhya. Infiz Basket was better in fourth quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zaporizhya had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Stanislav Ovdeyenko (191-84) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Yuriy Kondrakov (185-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Zaporizhya's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Swingman Pavel Lebedintsev (196-96) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and swingman Anton Musiyenko (191-97) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Four Zaporizhya and five Infiz Basket players scored in double figures. Zaporizhya maintains seventh place with 5-10 record. Infiz Basket lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Zaporizhya will face higher ranked Cherkasy (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Infiz Basket will play against the league's leader Khimik and will have a slim chance for a victory.
