There was no surprise in Raseiniai where 13th ranked Rasai (6-15) was defeated by second ranked Mazeikiai (16-4) 82-77. Rasai was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 20-10 charge of Mazeikiai, which allowed them to win the game. Swingman Kostas Jonuska (196-92) nailed 25 points and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Evaldas Saulys (195-93) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Forward Valdemaras Savostjanovas (200-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Gabriel Moton (191-91, college: Brandeis) added 20 points and 7 assists respectively for Rasai in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Mazeikiai. They maintain second place with 16-4 record having just three points less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Rasai lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Mazeikiai will play against Petrochema (#7) in Jonava in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rasai will play on the road against Nafta-Uni. (#11) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
