Regular Season Round 21: Suduva-Mantinga - Ezerunas-Karys 79-60

NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (18-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Ezerunas-Karys (6-13) in Marijampole 79-60. It looked good early as Ezerunas-Karys took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Suduva-Mantinga had a 18-14 second period charge getting the lead and Ezerunas-Karys was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-79. Suduva-Mantinga dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ezerunas-Karys' 30. They outrebounded Ezerunas-Karys 46-25 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Paulius Vaitiekunas (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) accounted for 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Andrius Juknevicius (192-92) came up with 14 points and 5 assists and forward Eimantas Narusis (200-86) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Ezerunas-Karys in the defeat. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Ezerunas-Karys lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Silute (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ezerunas-Karys will play against Palanga and hopes to get back on the winning track.
