Regular Season Round 11: Budivelnyk - Hoverla 81-68

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kyiv. Third ranked Budivelnyk faced 4th placed Hoverla. Host Budivelnyk (7-3) defeated guests from Frankivsk (4-5) 81-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hoverla. They outrebounded Hoverla 41-28 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Budivelnyk players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Hoverla's players. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Andrei Malysh (203-83, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. The former international point guard Artem Butskyy (186-81, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) accounted for 14 points and 9 assists for the winning side. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. American forward Jayon James (198-92, college: La-Monroe) came up with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American-Jamaican guard Dante Williams (191-87, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively for Hoverla in the defeat. Hoverla's coach Oleksandr Lokhmanchuk rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Budivelnyk. They maintain third place with 7-3 record having just one point less than leader Dnipro. Hoverla at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Budivelnyk's next round opponent will be league's leader Dnipro in Dnepropetrovsk and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hoverla will play at home against BK Kremen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
