Regular Season Round 18: UBSC Graz - Gussing 69-67

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Gussing Knights (15-3) on the court of tenth ranked UBSC Graz on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by UBSC Graz 69-67. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 2 points. UBSC Graz forced 21 Gussing Knights turnovers. It was a good game for Slovenian power forward Drago Brcina (205-87) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Lithuanian center Povilas Gaidys (208-91, college: Southeastern) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. UBSC Graz's coach Peter Stahl used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90, agency: Two Points) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Gussing Knights. UBSC Graz (6-12) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Wels. Defending champion Gussing Knights still keep top position with three games lost. UBSC Graz is again looking forward to face league's leader Gussing Knights on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gussing Knights will have a break next round.
