The game between ninth ranked Canik Bld (4-5) and 13th ranked Gelistirenler (2-7) in Samsun on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Canik Bld beat guests from Istanbul 75-59. It was a good game for American point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Latvian center Zane Teilane-Tamane (200-83, college: W.Illinois, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Canik Bld players scored in double figures. American point guard Alexandria Bentley (170-90, college: Tarbes, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with 26 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international center Kristen Nevlin (193-85, college: Stanford) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Gelistirenler. Canik Bld moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Besiktas and Yakin Dogu. Gelistirenler lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Canik Bld will face higher ranked Galatasaray (#4) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gelistirenler will play at home against the league's second-placed Istanbul Uni (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
