The game in Istanbul supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Denizli (10-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Pertevniyal (7-6). Denizli smashed Pertevniyal 82-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Denizli led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Denizli made 7 blocks. Forward Mehmet Ozdogan (198-87) nailed 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and forward Mustafa Bakir Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Denizli players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Denizli. They maintain third place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Tofas. Loser Pertevniyal dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Denizli will meet at home Meliksah (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Pertevniyal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul DSI.
