Regular Season Round 11: Beroe - Yambol 87-77

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Beroe (7-4) beat 9th ranked Yambol (2-9) in Stara Zagora 87-77 on Saturday. Yambol was trailing by 13 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 33-21 charge of Beroe, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Evrik Gary (191-91, college: Francis Marion) who led the winners and scored 27 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). His fellow American import forward Auston Barnes (203-91, college: Bradley) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Gary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Beroe's coach Lubomir Minchev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian forward Bojan Radetic (205-88, agency: BeoExcell) came up with 26 points and 5 rebounds and guard Stanislav Govedarov (185-80) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Yambol in the defeat. Four Beroe and five Yambol players scored in double figures. Beroe moved-up to third place, which they share with Spartak Pleven. Loser Yambol dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Akademik PL. Beroe will meet league's leader Lukoil Acad. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yambol will play against the league's second-placed Balkan (#2) and hope to secure a win.
