Regular Season Round 22: Zalgiris II - Delikatesas 73-67

There was no surprise in Kaunas where 10th ranked Delikatesas (8-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Zalgiris II (12-10) 73-67. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Delikatesas was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Paulius Valinskas (190-95) notched 13 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and swingman Martynas Varnas (196-97) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Masiulis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Sarunas Kulevicius (191-89) did not help to save the game for Delikatesas. Forward Darius Griskenas (194-84) added 16 points for lost side. Zalgiris II maintains sixth position with 12-10 record. Delikatesas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Zalgiris II's next round opponent will be Silute (#9) at home. Delikatesas will play against Vytis and hope to win that game.
