Regular Season Round 14: CSU Sibiu - U-Banca TR 66-65

Important game to mention about took place in Sibiu. Fifth ranked CSU Sibiu (9-4) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers U-Banca TR (8-5) 66-65 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of U-Banca TR. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 17-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. CSU Sibiu made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. U-Banca TR was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. International point guard Octavian Calota (186-84) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Serbian-Bosnian point guard Filip Adamovic (181-88, agency: 011 Sports) replied with 23 points and 4 assists and American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for U-Banca TR. U-Banca TR's coach Marcel Tenter rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. CSU Sibiu keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Oradea and Targu Mures. U-Banca TR at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Craiova. CSU Sibiu will play against league's second-placed Targu Mures on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. U-Banca TR will play against the league's leader Oradea and hopes to get back on the winning track.
