Regular Season Round 14: Craiova - BC Timisoara 96-75

There was no surprise when 11th ranked BC Timisoara (2-12) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Craiova (8-5) 96-75. The game was mostly controlled by Craiova. BC Timisoara was better in fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BC Timisoara 43-19 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Serbian power forward Milivoje Bozovic (210-85, agency: Beo Basket) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international center Catalin Burlacu (210-77, agency: Court Side) supported him with 17 points. Even 21 points by Montenegrin Ivan Jelenic (192-85, agency: 011 Sports) did not help to save the game for BC Timisoara. Bahamas forward Kentwan Smith (203-91, college: Stetson) added 14 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Craiova have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with U-Banca TR. BC Timisoara at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Craiova's next round opponent will be higher ranked Steaua CSM (#4) in Bucuresti and it may be quite challenging game. BC Timisoara will play at home against Phoenix Galati (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
