Regular Season Round 11: Levski 2014 - Chernomorets 91-79

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Chernomorets (1-10) lost to seventh ranked Levski 2014 (4-7) in Sofia 79-91 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-79. Levski 2014 dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Chernomorets' 28. It was an exceptional evening for forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international forward Stanislav Slaveykov (198-86) accounted for 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Konstantin Koev (196-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian center Dejan Bjelic (209-90) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Chernomorets in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Levski 2014 maintains seventh place with 4-7 record. Chernomorets lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Levski 2014 will meet higher ranked Cherno More (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chernomorets will play against Academik Plovdiv (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
