Regular Season Round 9: Neftochimic - Montana 2003 73-77

The game between second ranked Neftochimic (6-3) and fourth ranked Montana 2003 (5-3) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Neftochimic was defeated by Montana 2003 in a tough game in Burgas 73-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Neftochimic. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 27-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American-Trinidad and Tobago forward Kellindra Zackery (184-88, college: Newman) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Maria Zhelyazkova (182-86, agency: Promotex) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian guard Tamara Bajic (175-87) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Montana 2003 and five Neftochimic players scored in double figures. Montana 2003 have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 5-3 record, which they share with Beroe. Neftochimic at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Montana 2003 is looking forward to face Levski (#6) in Sofia in the next round. Neftochimic will play on the road against Beroe in Stara Zagora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
