Regular Season Round 11: Darussafaka - Besiktas 99-86

Date: December 20, 2015
Rather expected game in Istanbul where 8th ranked Besiktas (6-7) was defeated by sixth ranked Darussafaka (7-4) 99-86 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Darussafaka. Besiktas was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Darussafaka well out of reach of Besiktas shooting 71.7 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Darussafaka especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Besiktas' players. The best player for the winners was American guard Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-84, college: Virginia Tech) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. Georgian Manuchar Markoishvili (197-86) chipped in 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Darussafaka's coach Oktay Mahmudi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American point guard Randy Culpepper (183-89, college: UTEP, agency: Inception Sports) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Darussafaka have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 7-4 record. Besiktas at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Darussafaka will face Trabzonspor (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
