Regular Season Round 11: Dnipro - Halychyna 90-61

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Dnepropetrovsk. Leader Dnipro faced second-ranked Halychyna. Host Dnipro (9-0) smashed guests from Lviv (7-2) 90-61. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Halychyna. Dnipro dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Halychyna's 32. They outrebounded Halychyna 47-32 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dnipro looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Center Vladislav Korenyuk (210-94) helped adding 16 points and 14 rebounds. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. American guard Larry Hall (190-83, college: W.Oregon) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dnipro have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Halychyna at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Dnipro will meet Budivelnyk (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Halychyna will play against BC Odessa and hope to secure a win.
