Regular Season Round 12: Saarlouis - Herner 68-62

An interesting game for TV Saarlouis Royals (10-2) which hosted in Saarlouis 4th ranked Herner TC (8-4). Third ranked TV Saarlouis Royals managed to get a 6-point victory 68-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Herner TC. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-62. TV Saarlouis Royals forced 22 Herner TC turnovers. It was a good game for Latvian forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Stina Barnert (173-89) contributed with 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The former international point guard Lea Mersch (170-87) replied with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Herner TC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TV Saarlouis Royals have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Keltern. Herner TC at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Marburg. TV Saarlouis Royals is looking forward to face league's leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Herner TC will play against ChemCats Chemnitz and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
