There was an upset when higher ranked Usak (7-4) was smashed on the road by thirteenth ranked Trabzonspor (5-7) 98-66 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Trabzonspor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Trabzonspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Usak's players. It was a good game for American-Congolese point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 4 assists. American point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Trabzonspor players scored in double figures. Canadian center Khem Birch (208-92, college: UNLV) replied with 9 points and 12 rebounds and Lithuanian power forward Evaldas Kairys (207-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Usak. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Trabzonspor moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with TED Kolejliler. Loser Usak dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Trabzonspor will face TED Kolejliler (#11) in Ankara in the next round. Usak will play at home against the league's leader Anadolu Efes (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
