An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ludwigsburg. First ranked Brose Baskets faced 3rd ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg. Guests from Bamberg (12-2) defeated host EnBW Ludwigsburg (9-4) 77-62. Brose Baskets players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Latvian point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 assists. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. American forward Jon Brockman (201-87, college: Washington) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import point guard Mustafa Shakur (192-84, college: Arizona, agency: Octagon Europe) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for EnBW Ludwigsburg. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brose Baskets have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-2 record. EnBW Ludwigsburg at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Brose Baskets will play against BBC Bayreuth (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#7) in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
