No shocking result in a game when third ranked ICIM Arad (10-3) crushed 10th ranked Rapid (1-14) in Bucuresti 88-46 on Wednesday. The game without a history. ICIM Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Rapid's 28. They outrebounded Rapid 49-15 including a 24-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. ICIM Arad looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side. Four ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. The former international guard Florina Diaconu (170-82) came up with 7 points and 5 assists and guard Carmen Bonciog (167-92) added 7 points respectively for Rapid in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ICIM Arad have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Sf.Gheorghe. Rapid lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. ICIM Arad will meet at home league's leader Sf.Gheorghe in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rapid will play against Galati (#7) and hope to win that game.
