No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Besiktas (6-6) beat 13th ranked Torku Konyaspor (4-7) in Istanbul 73-58 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Besiktas. Torku Konyaspor was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Torku Konyaspor was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Nate Wolters (193-91, college: S.Dakota St.) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. American-Bosnian guard Ernest Bremer (194-80, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Higher Vision Sports) replied with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) added 16 points in the effort for Torku Konyaspor. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas moved-up to eighth place. Loser Torku Konyaspor keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Besiktas will face league's second-placed Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Torku Konyaspor will play at home against Turk Telekom (#16) and hope to win that game.
