Regular Season Round 12: Karsiyaka - Galatasaray 97-92

BSL round 12 caused change at the leadership position. Fourth defeat of league's leader Galatasaray (8-4) against seventh ranked Karsiyaka (7-5) 97-92 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Galatasaray won fourth quarter 31-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karsiyaka shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. 27 personal fouls committed by Galatasaray helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Josh Carter (200-88, college: Texas A&M) who led his team to a victory with 26 points. The other American import guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Caleb Green (203-85, college: ORU) replied with 27 points and 6 assists and American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Galatasaray. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 7-5 record. Galatasaray at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Darussafaka and Fener.Ulker. They were replaced at the leadership position by Anadolu Efes. Galatasaray will play next round against Besiktas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Karsiyaka will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Banvit BK in Balikesir.
