Regular Season Round 12: Anadolu Efes - Fener.Ulker 93-84

The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Anadolu Efes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Anadolu Efes defeated second-best Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul 93-84. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fenerbahce Ulker. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Fenerbahce Ulker was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Anadolu Efes made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (188-89) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and French point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: Beo Basket) who added 21 points and 5 assists during the contest. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was international point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) with 25 points and Italian forward Luigi Datome (203-87) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Anadolu Efes and four Fenerbahce Ulker players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Fenerbahce Ulker at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Darussafaka and Galatasaray. Fenerbahce Ulker will play next round against Royal Hali trying to get back on the winning streak. Anadolu Efes will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Usak on the road.
