Very predictable result in Ankara where second ranked Acibadem (12-2) defeated 12th ranked Mamak DSI (5-9) 68-58 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 34-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Acibadem dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Mamak DSI's 34. American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) scored 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Azerbaijani Orhan Haciyeva (200-89) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Acibadem's coach Alp Bayramoglu used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Ali Kavaklioglu (186-86) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and guard Pertev Onguner (196-91) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Newly promoted Acibadem maintains second position with 12-2 record having just two points less than leader Tofas. Loser Mamak DSI dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. Acibadem will face Gediz (#4) at home in the next round. Mamak DSI will play against Eskisehir Basket (#7) in Edirne and hope to win that game.
