No shocking result in a game when first ranked Khimik (16-1) crushed 4th ranked Bipa Basket (8-8) in Yuzhny 90-63 on Friday. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Bipa Basket's players. It was a good game for Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Oleksandr Ryabchuk (189-89) contributed with 10 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. American guard Chris Carter (196-92, college: Florida Tech, agency: Interperformances) replied with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Evgeni Tkachenko (204-83) added 15 points in the effort for Bipa Basket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimik have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-1 record. Loser Bipa Basket dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Khimik will face Dynamo (#3) in Kyiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bipa Basket will play on the road against Infiz Basket in Kyiv and hope to win that game.
