There was an upset when higher ranked Mersin Uni (5-6) was edged on the road by eleventh ranked Alanya Bld (4-7) 62-61 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Porsha Harris (188-90, college: Bethel, TN, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Manolya Kurtulmus (187-98) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Alanya Bld players scored in double figures. Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and Gizem Kumandanoglu (-94) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Alanya Bld moved-up to eighth place in Group B. Loser Mersin Uni keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Alanya Bld will face higher ranked TED Ankara (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
