An interesting game took place in Edirne where higher ranked Eskisehir Basket (8-6) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Gelisim (6-8) 94-81 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Eskisehir Basket. The game was mostly controlled by Gelisim. Eskisehir Basket was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gelisim looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Eskisehir Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Emir Gokalp (185-95, agency: Ali Guney BA) scored 24 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Reha Oz (200-78) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. American point guard Leemire Goldwire (184-85, college: Charlotte, agency: HMS) responded with 29 points and his fellow American import forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Ali Guney BA) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Eskisehir Basket's coach Metin Agirbasoglu let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gelisim moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Eskisehir Basket dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Gelisim will face higher ranked Pertevniyal (#8) in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
