The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Interkhim (2-1) in Odessa on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Blyskavky (3-0) 68-61. Interkhim trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 22-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 61-68 at the end of the game. Strangely Interkhim outrebounded Blyskavky 47-27 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Iryna Zhmurko (181-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Viktoriia Khomiak (171-95) contributed with 14 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Blyskavky players scored in double figures. International power forward Tetyana Antonyuk (187-95) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and international forward Kateryna Kovalyova (185-89) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Interkhim. Blyskavky is looking forward to face DVUFK (#7) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round where they are favorite. Interkhim will play on the road against Tavriyska Zivka (#8) in Kherson and is hoping to win this game.
