The most exciting game of round 11 in the TKBL took place in Mersin. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Istanbulgucu (8-3) to leader Mersin Basketbal (11-0) 64-61 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Istanbulgucu. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American center Aisha Mohammed (191-85, college: Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 22 rebounds. Forward Harika Eldas (182-90) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and Gizem Uca (170-94) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Mersin Basketbal have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 11-0 record. Istanbulgucu at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Osmaniye. Mersin Basketbal are looking forward to face Nevsehir GHSIM (#5) at home in the next round. Istanbulgucu will play against Cankaya in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
