A Bundesliga top team - Gussing Knights (16-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked UBSC Graz (6-13) 87-69. The game without a history. Gussing Knights led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Gussing Knights outrebounded UBSC Graz 40-20 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) fired 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Jerrell Wright (203, college: La Salle) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Gussing Knights players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Jure Pelko (190-90) produced 22 points and Lithuanian center Povilas Gaidys (208-91, college: Southeastern) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-3 record. Loser UBSC Graz dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Gussing Knights will meet at home Raiffeisen Wels (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UBSC Graz will play against Redwell Gunners Oberwart and hope to secure a win.
