Very expected game in Sakaraya where 10th ranked Afyon (5-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Sakarya BSB (10-4) 74-65 on Saturday. Afyon was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 24-7 charge of Sakarya BSB, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Afyon to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Sakarya BSB dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Afyon's 18 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Afyon was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Kerem Ozkan (201-88) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. They dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Sakarya BSB will face Socar Petkim (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
