Regular Season Round 11: Fenerbahce - Hatay 60-53

Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Fenerbahce and 6th ranked Hatay had identical 7-3 record. This time Fenerbahce used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Hatay 60-53 on Sunday night. Fenerbahce held Hatay to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Hatay 47-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points. American swingman Marissa Coleman (185-87, college: Maryland) helped adding 9 points and 10 rebounds. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Bahar Ozturk (183-84, college: Connecticut, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Fenerbahce (8-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mersin and Galatasaray. Loser Hatay dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Istanbul Univ.. Fenerbahce will meet league's leader Abdullah Gul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hatay will play against Edirne (#9) and hope to secure a win.
