Regular Season Round 18: Juventus - Nevezis 88-92

The most important game in the last round took place in Utena between third ranked Juventus (9-8) and ninth ranked Nevezis (6-10) on Sunday night. Juventus was defeated by Nevezis in a tough game at home 88-92. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-88. Nevezis made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Juventus helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Nevezis and four Juventus players scored in double figures. Nevezis moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lietkabelis. Juventus at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Nevezis is looking forward to face league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Juventus will play on the road against the league's leader Zalgiris where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
