Regular Season Round 12: Khimik - Infiz Basket 105-62

Very expected game when 9th ranked Infiz Basket (2-15) was smashed by first ranked Khimik (16-1) in Yuzhny 105-62 on Monday. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Infiz Basket's 24. They outrebounded Infiz Basket 52-30 including a 42-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Khimik looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Infiz Basket's players. It was a good game for swingman Olexandr Belikov (200-92) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Oleksandr Antypov (202-95) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Khimik players scored in double figures. Khimik's coach Oleg Yushkin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Igor Dobrikov (193-90) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Pavel Lebedintsev (196-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Infiz Basket. Khimik have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-1 record. Infiz Basket lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Khimik will face Dynamo (#3) in Kyiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Infiz Basket will play at home against Bipa Basket (#5) and hope to win that game.
