Rather expected game in Bucuresti where 10th ranked Rapid (1-15) was crushed by seventh ranked Galati (8-7) 82-51 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Galati. Rapid managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 30-of-38 free shots (78.9 percent) during the game, while Rapid only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Galati forced 28 Rapid turnovers and outrebounded them 63-36 including a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international guard Florina Diaconu (170-82) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Moldovan guard Natalia Burlakova (175-84) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Galati maintains seventh position with 8-7 record. Rapid lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. Galati will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rapid will play against Timisoara (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
