Regular Season Round 12: Infiz Basket - Khimik 70-91

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Khimik (16-1) crushed bottom-ranked Infiz Basket (2-15) in Kyiv 91-70 on Tuesday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Khimik dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Infiz Basket's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Branden Frazier (190-92, college: Fordham) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Khimik players scored in double figures. Khimik's coach Oleg Yushkin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Artem Shvets (202-85) replied with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Igor Dobrikov (193-90) added 18 points in the effort for Infiz Basket. Khimik have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-1 record. Infiz Basket lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Khimik will face Dynamo (#3) in Kyiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Infiz Basket will play at home against Bipa Basket (#5) and hope to win that game.
