Regular Season Round 19: Vytautas - Neptunas 72-85

The most shocking disappointment of round 19 in the LKL was a home defeat of 4th placed Vytautas (8-9) to fifth ranked Neptunas (9-8) 85-72. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-72. Neptunas outrebounded Vytautas 42-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Arnas Butkevicius (197-92) helped adding 20 points. Neptunas' coach Dainius Adomaitis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Vilmantas Dilys (207-87) scored 17 points. Five Neptunas and four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Neptunas moved-up to third place, which they share with Juventus. Vytautas lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Siauliai. Neptunas is looking forward to face P.Zvaigzdes (#9) in Pasvalys in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vytautas will play on the road against Nevezis (#8) in Kedainiai and is hoping to win this game.
