Regular Season Round 16: Ludwigsburg - Crailsheim 100-65

Date: December 30, 2015
Seventh ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (11-5) crushed at home 14th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (5-11) by 35 points 100-65, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by EnBW Ludwigsburg. Crailsheim Merlins was better in second period 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EnBW Ludwigsburg dominated on the defensive end, holding Crailsheim Merlins to just 7 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Crailsheim Merlins' 28. They outrebounded Crailsheim Merlins 39-19 including a 27-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. EnBW Ludwigsburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by naturalized Spanish Alvaro Munoz (197-90, agency: Duran International) who scored that evening 25 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and naturalized American forward Adam Waleskowski (203-82, college: Florida St., agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Munoz is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. EnBW Ludwigsburg's coach John Patrick felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points and 6 assists by American point guard Jordan Callahan (184-90, college: Tulane) did not help to save the game for Crailsheim Merlins. His fellow American import center Matt Stainbrook (208-92, college: Xavier, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with EWE Baskets and Fraport SKY. Crailsheim Merlins at the other side keep the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against league's second-placed ALBA Berlin at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#5) and hope to get back on the winning track.
