Very important is a road loss of second ranked Galatasaray (9-5) against sixteenth ranked Turk Telekom (3-10) on Saturday night. Visiting Galatasaray was defeated by Turk Telekom in a tough game in Ankara 85-91. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Galatasaray won third quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Turk Telekom made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American forward Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) notched 28 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Michael Jenkins (193-86, college: Winthrop) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Turk Telekom's coach Hakan Demir used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 31 points and 5 assists by American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) did not help to save the game for Galatasaray. International Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Turk Telekom moved-up to fifteenth place. Galatasaray at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be higher ranked Banvit BK (#5) in Balikesir and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Galatasaray will play at home against Yesilgiresun and hope to win that game.
