Regular Season Round 15: Tofas - Final Genclik 95-72

Very expected game in Bursa where 14th ranked Final Genclik (5-10) was rolled over by leader Tofas (15-0) 95-72 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-72. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Kaya Peker (207-80, agency: Court Side) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina, agency: Two Points) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt, agency: HMS) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tofas have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-0 record. Final Genclik at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Tofas will face Adanaspor (#17) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Final Genclik will play against Afyon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
