No shocking result in a game in Klaipeda where third ranked Neptunas (10-8) defeated 9th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (5-12) 90-79 on Sunday. P.Zvaigzdes was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 32-17 charge of Neptunas, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 assists and forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Derrick Low (191-86, college: Washington St.) scored 13 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Neptunas maintains third position with 10-8 record having seven points less than leader Zalgiris. P.Zvaigzdes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Neptunas will meet bottom-ranked Dzukija (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Nevezis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
