Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Canik Bld players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Essence Carson (183-86, college: Rutgers) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alyssa Thomas (188-92, college: Maryland) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and center Kelsey Bone (193-91, college: Texas A&M) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Yakin Dogu. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Yakin Dogu's coach Alper Durur rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Canik Bld have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Istanbul Univ. Yakin Dogu lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Canik Bld's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Adana ASKI (#14) in Mersin and are hoping to win another game. Yakin Dogu will play on the road against Gelistirenler in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
