Regular Season Round 11: Neftochimic - Septemvri 87-58

Rather expected game in Burgas where 6th ranked Septemvri (3-8) was crushed by third ranked Neftochimic (8-3) 87-58 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Neftochimic. Septemvri managed to win third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Septemvri to just 4 points in second quarter. Neftochimic forced 22 Septemvri turnovers and outrebounded them 62-35 including a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Jelena Jovanovic (184-90) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Rositsa Yovcheva (171-94) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Ana-Maria Kolyandrova (165-97) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ivona Ilieva (176-98) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neftochimic moved-up to second place, which they share with Dunav 8806. Newly promoted Septemvri keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Neftochimic will meet league's leader Haskovo 2012 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Septemvri will play against Beroe (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
