Regular Season Round 13: Keltern - Oberhausen 66-69

The most exciting game of round 13 in the DBBL took place in Keltern. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Gruner Stern Keltern (10-3) to eleventh ranked Oberhausen (3-10) 69-66 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 35-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Jylisa Williams (176-89, college: Georgia St.) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Melissa Williams (185, college: E.Washington) chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side French point guard Magali Mendy (178-90) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Kendall Kenyon (188, college: Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Oberhausen moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Chemnitz. Newly promoted Gruner Stern Keltern keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Saarlouis. Oberhausen is looking forward to face higher ranked SV Halle Lions (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gruner Stern Keltern will play against TV Saarlouis Royals (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
