Rather expected game in Istanbul where 12th ranked Yakin Dogu (4-10) was defeated by ninth ranked Gelistirenler (6-8) 72-62. Gelistirenler players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Kristen Nevlin (193-85, college: Stanford) supported her with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Alyssa Thomas (188-92, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Yakin Dogu. Her fellow American import center Kelsey Bone (193-91, college: Texas A&M) added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Gelistirenler have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Besiktas and Botas. Yakin Dogu lost seventh consecutive game. Yakin Dogu at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Gelistirenler's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Adana ASKI (#14) in Mersin where they are favorite. Yakin Dogu will play at home against the league's second-placed Galatasaray and will have a slim chance for a victory.
